Dancing Ganesha
This artwork of Dancing Ganesha began as a spontaneous sketch from my imagination. I wanted to capture joy and rhythm in a form that felt free yet rooted in folk tradition. While exploring the composition, I found myself drawn to the structural simplicity of Jamini Roy’s work, especially his signature large, expressive eyes. That became a central element in my design.
I’ve included some of my early pencil sketches here, showing how the pose and features evolved before I finalised the piece. The final artwork is a celebration of Ganesha’s playful, graceful spirit, rendered in a style that blends the personal with the traditional.
