Sun and Moon- Madhubani and Gond fusion

Surjo o chand- The Sun and the Moon

This is a fusion of two folk art of India Gond art and Madhubani painting. This illustration depicts the Sun and the Moon who reigns the day and night. Here I have shown 27 stars or nakshatras who are daughters of King Daksha as per Hindu mythology. They were all married to the Moon. 

The Sun and the Moon together controls the sky, air, land and water. Together they nurture the living beings.
